Born and raised in Vancouver, Allan Cho is Canadian of Chinese heritage, whose research interests are in Asian Canadian history and culture.  Allan has been involved in several community organizations including the Vancouver Asian Heritage Month Society, Vancouver Asian Film Festival, Chinese Canadian Historical Society of British Columbia, the Roedde House Museum, and the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden. During the day when he is at work, he is an academic librarian at the University of British Columbia [http://directory.library.ubc.ca/people/view/716 Library], where he specializes in research support for the Digital Humanities and Asian Studies, and manages UBC Library&#039; Research Commons. Allan spearheads the annual LiterASIAN festival, which is the only Asian Canadian Writers’ Festival in North America.   He consults on a variety of projects, and one called the Early Hong Kong-Canada Connections: An Exhibition-Oriented research Project to Uncover Historical Facts and Artefacts on Chinese Migration to the &amp;quot;New Gold Mountain&amp;quot; of Canada. J F Garrard is a Chinese Canadian editor, novelist, writer of speculative fiction and founder of [http://www.darkhelixpress.com Dark Helix Press], an indie publisher that specializes in multicultural fantasy, science fiction, and “raw non-fiction.” She is interested in increasing awareness of diversity issues and breaking down cultural stereotypes through her dark stories. Garrard was born in Toronto and earned a bachelor degree in Nuclear medicine (University of Toronto) prior to earning an MBA in Marketing and Strategy at York University. She is currently working on a Creative Writing certificate from Ryerson University.&lt;br /&gt;

For the [http://www.asiancanadianwriters.ca/ Asian Canadian Writers&#039; Workshop] she works as a Festival Coordinator for the annual [https://literasian.com/toronto/ LiterASIAN Toronto], an extension of the existing LiterASIAN festival in Vancouver which celebrates the best in Asian Canadian arts. Recently she was made Co-President of the [http://www.canauthorstoronto.org/ Canadian Authors Association&#039;s Toronto Branch] and organizes events for writers and editors on behalf of the association.&lt;br /&gt;

Her latest project is “Immersion: Love, Fantasy, Science” an anthology of speculative fiction stories to be published in the summer of 2019 which she will be editing with fellow Ricepaper Magazine staff Allan Cho and William Tham.&lt;br /&gt;
